Teenagers are also getting interested in cosmetic surgery these days. There is a big debate going on as to whether this trend is right or not. Opinions differ on the matter. Deformities at the time of the birth will have to be corrected by cosmetic surgery as early as possible. Unattended facial deformities are great causes for trauma with children leading to psychological problems. Whatever the surgeon tells is only advisory and not binding. The final decision is that of the parent. A long period of indecision will not be helpful especially in case of children who complain about teasing at school about their appearance. This teasing may come from family members also though may be for fun but makes the teenagers mentally unstable. This is one of the main reasons for increase in teen Cosmetic Surgery. In such cases, the best solution is to go for the surgery.
The effect of the teenager getting his or her wishes accepted is a great morale booster. The knowledge that there will be no mare teasing adds emotional strength and also improves the bonding with parents. For a teenager parental support is a catalyst for positive action. If the parents find that by getting cosmetic surgery on their child improves this bond it would be worthwhile to go ahead with it. Unfortunately, in some cases the teenager feels that some physical aspects should be corrected, causing great concern to parents.
The media have played a big role for increase in teen Cosmetic Surgery. The hype it gives for certain physical features is mainly responsible for teenagers wishing the changes in the body. It is particularly so in the case of movie and fashion magazines which give undue importance to physical parts. It is only natural that teens get carried away by that. It is parental responsibility to guide them correctly and advice them the glamour world is different from the real world. Harmless procedures, like mole removal can be done without much fuss.
